In the early 1980s Stefan Schaefter began collecting and restoring
vintage bicycles.
The label Speedbicycles was established in early 1990s. In 2003
Speedbicycles GmbH (Ltd liab. Co) (SARL), was founded in Basel, Switzerland.
Through the years the collection has become selective in the direction
of lightweight bikes.
Speedbicycles lays much importance on the maintenance of authenticity
of the vintage bicycle.
In 2017 Stefan started RENNVELOSERVICE. This is a small shop in Basel, Switzerland that offers service and repair exclusively for current and vintage professional racing bicycles.
